Terminology of Computer Memory
January 31st, 2008 by admin
There are several other terms that are used to refer to computer memory . We have computer data storage, storage, or simply ‘memory’. Computer memory can be either in the form of mass data storage such as in the case of hard disks or flash drives, or as RAM or Random Access Memory, which allows the computer to readily access certain bits of data that it needs to use immediately without having to go through the mass storage unit. These are absolutely essential components of any computer system and you will need enough of both in order to ensure smooth operation.

Electron Microscopy Science
January 30th, 2008 by admin
Next semester is going to be exciting, because it will be my first chance to get into Electron Microscopy Science. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these. The ability to look so deeply into the nature of things is truly extraordinary.
I’m fascinated with electron microscope prices in particular. The inventors were truly extraordinary people. Imagine coming up with such a device, and actually making it work.
I’m going to have to start bringing a sleeping bag to the lab this year. That’s alright - I enjoy it.

Anti Phishing Software
January 28th, 2008 by admin
In spite of repeated warnings from my friends to prevent phishing, I find it very convenient to use my credit card to shop online for various things. Being a very lazy person, I did not take the trouble to install any anti phishing software even though I have come across many of them that are offered for free on the internet.
I paid the price for my stupidity when I realised that someone has been unscrupulously using my credit card number. Even this I realized only after paying a huge amount for three months. I had to take this up with the credit card company and it took me such a long time to sort out this issue.

Are brainstorming techniques random activities?
January 27th, 2008 by admin
It would be incorrect to say that all brainstorming techniques that are used today are random activities that are carried out without a proper purpose. They are used only when there is a need for new ideas and for improvement on situations within a specified environment. One cannot use the same brainstorming techniques that one uses in a product development situation and in a human resource problem. Each of these situations needs a different way of approaching the problem. Hence, it is necessary for the management to know the situation well, before employing any brainstorming techniques that are common.

Document Management Standards
January 26th, 2008 by admin
Our document archives are gowing out of control. It’s time for us to institute some
document management standards. Up until now, we’ve been using an ad hoc system, and it’s not going to cut it any more.
In particular, we need to look at Document Management Software Reviews. I think it could help us get things under control, at least to some extent.
Of course the real hassle will be getting management to sign off on the document management standards. They’re tight fisted, but they’re just going to have to fork over the money for this one.

The Different Types Of Notebook RAM
January 25th, 2008 by admin
When buying notebook memory, you must know exactly what type of RAM your laptop currently uses. There are three main types of RAM: SDRAM, DDR and Rambus DRAM. SDRAM stands for Synchronous DRAM and it’s one of the older types, as new generations of memory such as DDR and RDRAM are now required to get proper performance. DDR means Double Data Rate SDRAM and DDR basically doubles the rate of data transfer of standard SDRAM by transferring data on the up and down tick of a clock cycle. RDRAM is top notch but comes at a higher price. Despite it’s higher price, Intel has given RDRAM it’s blessing for the consumer market, and it will be the sole choice of memory for Intel’s Pentium 4. RDRAM is a serial memory technology that arrived in three flavors.
