Upgrading my internet account to a better deal

The other day I had had enough of my internet connection so I started to consider what to do. Eventually, I decided it was time for a dsl upgrade. I checked out several plans online and found one that suits my budget. I am going on a longer term contract since I won’t be moving and the company is going to throw in a free modem. I just have to wait two weeks for them to hook up the service. The plan has plenty of bandwidth so this time I won’t need to worry about download limits.

Why a DSL Modem

You require a special DSL modem and DSL Filters. This depends on the method of installation.

There are two different methods for installing DSL service. The first is split and the other is splitterless.

Check with your dsl service providers.

If you are using the split method, then you don’t require a DSL Filter. Here, a technician needs to visit the premises and install a splitter in the main telephone cable that feeds service to the premises. Two lines come out of the splitter. One of the lines feed your standard RJ11 Jacks and the other one is used only for the DSL modem. One does not require any filters as the splitter has already separated the line that feeds the DSL signal.
