Is there a company good to its word anymore?

Why do companies these days all promise one thing and say another?  They won’t even tell you what the true costs of something is, until you get your first bill.  I’m thinking about picking up a tracfone because the taxes and fees are all included the prepaid phone cards used to run the phone.  We used to have time warner, and they were the worst about overcharging, raising their rates, and man oh man did they screw up our bills.  Four months in a row they overcharged us, and we had to spend 30 minutes on the customer help line every time.
