WorldSpace is rapidly approaching controlling power or domination in the industry of satellite radio. WorldSpace can reach areas that many radio services cannot reach. It is one of the major mobile services in the United States. It does not require any type of receiver that is in a fixed location. WorldSpace had a couple of its satellites, AsiaStar and AfriStar in geostationary orbit before the other satellite companies. The WorldSpace Satellite Radio signals can transmit more than 50 channels with clear, concise audio. They operate on between 1,467 and 1.492 Megahertz. They are equipped with the L-Band which is designated for a digital broadcasting system.
